A Story of Growth
Albino Dias de Andrade founded, in Carvalhosa (Paços de Ferreira), the company Albino Dias de Andrade, Lda., dedicated to the production of gauze swabs.
The company took a decisive step in its evolution by becoming fully vertically integrated in gauze production, with the creation of an integrated unit for spinning, weaving, and bleaching.
The move to new facilities in Felgueiras, combined with the introduction of 300 new machines, enabled an increase in capacity to 80 tons per month, supporting growth and higher quality demands.
In 1996, Luís Andrade took over control of the family business, continuing the legacy of Albino Dias de Andrade through the modernization and expansion of the company.
Growing demand led to the transfer of production to Seroa (Paços de Ferreira), where processes became fully automated and centralized, while gauze production remained in Felgueiras.
The inauguration of the new facilities marked a phase of expansion and modernization, strengthening efficiency and production capacity.
Leadership of the ADA Group is taken on by the sisters Sara Andrade, Marta Andrade, and Matilde Andrade.
Lohmann & Rauscher acquires 49% of the share capital of the ADA Group.
